The slick very well done advertisements for “Music Yo” depict all the familiar Steinberger body shapes. Be aware these are very definitely NOT THE ORIGINAL MODELS and as far as we can tell absolutely none of the parts are interchangeable, Not even the strings.

These guitars play and sound awesome, they are by far better sounding than the graphite small oar shaped body that Steinberger is known for.
We do take this guitar one extra step, we hard mount the pickups and of course the customer isn’t stuck with the mandatory EMG pickups that the oar shaped model dictates.

STEINBERGER Shut down their entire USA manufacturing operation about 10 years ago. They are currently importing low cost, Korean made products that resemble the real thing, if you stand back about 10 feet and squint a little.
These guitars aren’t the worst guitars I have seen. If you are a beginner or someone who just wants a travel guitar to putz around on they are an OK deal. If you are a serious player and you are truly interested in acquiring a fine USA made instrument I suggest you look elsewhere. If you expect any kind of decent resale value in the future, I also suggest you look at Real Steinberger orLSR.
I think that Hohner builds about the best lower cost licensed Steinberger available today. The construction is heads and tails better than the Music Yo ones and the feel of the neck is much more stable. (Hohner’s German Engineering must be the reason) (Just say ’No’ To Music Yo)

LSR did at one time offer Gibson $250.000.00 to purchase the Steinberger name and trademarks. Sri sri ravi shankar live. This offer was made when the company was completely shut down and not delivering any product at all. Gibson declined the offer at that time.
LSR was only interested in purchasing the American rights, LSR would have not been involved in any importing. Gibson probably did not realize that at the time the offer was made. It is this writers opinion that if Gibson had realized that to be the case they would have probably accepted the offer.

Recently, Music Yo has put out a new supposedly American Made Model. I have not seen one up close but I have been told they are all using imported parts with an American made Moses neck. (Be aware the Moses neck does not fit on a real original Steinberger.) Be aware it is 100% legal to call something USA made if it is simply assembled in the USA. Harley Davidson & Fender have been doing that for some years now.

To the mainstream of rock and jazz audiences, he remains a little known, unsung hero. To the initiated, Holdsworth looms as both musical legend and commercial enigma. In the early 70s, he began as a sideman to the protean forces who merged rock’s electric instrumentation and driving pulse with the improvisational mastery associated with jazz. Holdsworth provided the searing, flamboyant edge that galvanized that era’s most celebrated recordings by the likes of Soft Machine, Tony William’s New Lifetime, and Jean-Luc Ponty. The sounds of Django Reinhardt, Charlie Christian, and later John Coltrane were among the primary inspirations that led Holdsworth away from his passion of bicycle racing, and into dance hall gigs, playing the Mecca circuit in Northern England. Born in Bradford, in 1946, Holdsworth had been tutored in many aspects of musical theory and jazz appreciation by his father, Sam, an accomplished amateur musician.
With the 1990 release of Secrets Holdsworth further revealed his rich musical vision, where contemporary forms of music are crafted in an improvisational context in defiance of conventional boundaries - a full range of emotions and textures. The Wardenclyffe Tower opens a stunning new chapter in a solo career that blossomed during the 80s. As a producer and composer, he continues to explore and expanding galaxy of guitar synths with a balance of his famed legato-lead stylings and an ever evolving array of chordal colorings. This 1992 album is stocked with further electric guitar innovations, including two tracks featuring his newly designed family of mutant, baritone guitars. There were 2 like it both of them bore the White Lion Logo and a graphic lion on the face of the guitar. We have done about 5 of these and several of Vito’s headstock model Steinberger also.
We are pleased to add it to our list of fabulous fakes. We simply take an original Pre Gibson Steinberger and refinish it with Vito’s graphic on the guitar.
These guitars play and sound awesome, they are by far better sounding than the graphite small oar shaped body that Steinberger is known for.
We do take this guitar one extra step, we hard mount the pickups and of course the customer isn’t stuck with the mandatory EMG pickups that the oar shaped model dictates.

STEINBERGER Shut down their entire USA manufacturing operation about 10 years ago. They are currently importing low cost, Korean made products that resemble the real thing, if you stand back about 10 feet and squint a little.
These guitars aren’t the worst guitars I have seen. If you are a beginner or someone who just wants a travel guitar to putz around on they are an OK deal. If you are a serious player and you are truly interested in acquiring a fine USA made instrument I suggest you look elsewhere. If you expect any kind of decent resale value in the future, I also suggest you look at Real Steinberger orLSR.
I think that Hohner builds about the best lower cost licensed Steinberger available today. The construction is heads and tails better than the Music Yo ones and the feel of the neck is much more stable. (Hohner’s German Engineering must be the reason) (Just say ’No’ To Music Yo)
LSR Guitar’s, has acquired several hundred thousand dollars of Original Steinberger guitars and parts. LSR has no affiliation with the Gibson Guitar Company, Gibson has acquired the trade name Steinberger and LSR is most definitely positively not affiliated in way whatsoever with “Music Yo” which is Gibson’s Sales vehicle to sell the imported product on the uneducated consumer market.
LSR did at one time offer Gibson $250.000.00 to purchase the Steinberger name and trademarks. Sri sri ravi shankar live. This offer was made when the company was completely shut down and not delivering any product at all. Gibson declined the offer at that time.
LSR was only interested in purchasing the American rights, LSR would have not been involved in any importing. Gibson probably did not realize that at the time the offer was made. It is this writers opinion that if Gibson had realized that to be the case they would have probably accepted the offer.
The slick very well done advertisements for “Music Yo” depict all the familiar Steinberger body shapes. Be aware these are very definitely NOT THE ORIGINAL MODELS and as far as we can tell absolutely none of the parts are interchangeable, not even the strings.
Recently, Music Yo has put out a new supposedly American Made Model. I have not seen one up close but I have been told they are all using imported parts with an American made Moses neck. (Be aware the Moses neck does not fit on a real original Steinberger.) Be aware it is 100% legal to call something USA made if it is simply assembled in the USA. Harley Davidson & Fender have been doing that for some years now.
LSR is affiliated with Ed Roman’s World Class Guitar’s, Abstract Guitars, Quicksilver Guitars, Scorpion Guitars, Pearlcaster Guitars. Authorware.
LSR is an American Company, LSR products are all American made and normally LSR has no involvement or interaction with Korean or Asian companies. There are certain situations where it becomes unavoidable & LSR must deal with Asian companies for certain parts but LSR does that strictly as a last resort.
LSR will be manufacturing products to fit the real USA Steinberger guitars as soon as patents expire. LSR also has a new stop tail piece bridge and several other new items that will fit LSR Guitars and retrofit on Steinberger Guitars. All LSR parts will retrofit on original real Steinberger Guitars. Music Yo products do not.
LSR is dedicated to keeping the original Ned Steinberger guitars alive & well. LSR is planning to try and reduce prices on many of the hard to find parts as soon as possible so that the cost factor will no longer be quite as high.
LSR will be manufacturing over 100 different body styles for LSR Guitars, these body styles will retrofit on all Steinbergers made in the USA from day one to the last days of production in the 90’s. LSR will offer over 20 different kinds of woods and a multitude of wood combinations on all LSR Guitars and of course these will retrofit on original Steinbergers also.
Completely refurbished Steinberger original P series body.
All other parts are new USA made after market replacements.

Allan Holdsworth is well known to contemporary musicians as an uncompromising virtuoso who redefined and re-invented the voice and scope of the electric guitar. To the mainstream of rock and jazz audiences, he remains a little known, unsung hero. To the initiated, Holdsworth looms as both musical legend and commercial enigma. In the early 70s, he began as a sideman to the protean forces who merged rock’s electric instrumentation and driving pulse with the improvisational mastery associated with jazz. Holdsworth provided the searing, flamboyant edge that galvanized that era’s most celebrated recordings by the likes of Soft Machine, Tony William’s New Lifetime, and Jean-Luc Ponty. The sounds of Django Reinhardt, Charlie Christian, and later John Coltrane were among the primary inspirations that led Holdsworth away from his passion of bicycle racing, and into dance hall gigs, playing the Mecca circuit in Northern England. Born in Bradford, in 1946, Holdsworth had been tutored in many aspects of musical theory and jazz appreciation by his father, Sam, an accomplished amateur musician.
With the 1990 release of Secrets Holdsworth further revealed his rich musical vision, where contemporary forms of music are crafted in an improvisational context in defiance of conventional boundaries - a full range of emotions and textures. The Wardenclyffe Tower opens a stunning new chapter in a solo career that blossomed during the 80s. As a producer and composer, he continues to explore and expanding galaxy of guitar synths with a balance of his famed legato-lead stylings and an ever evolving array of chordal colorings. This 1992 album is stocked with further electric guitar innovations, including two tracks featuring his newly designed family of mutant, baritone guitars. Wardenclyffe Tower, like Secrets features contributions from world-class musical collaborators, including long-time bandmates like drummer Chad Wackerman bassist Jimmy Johnson drummer/keyboardist Gary Husband and keyboardist Steve Hunt and drummer Vinnie Colaiuta. The sum of Holdsworth’s production realizes an enchanting rhythmic and harmonic chemistry - or alchemy - potent with unexpected melodic twists and turns. The spontaneous, fiery dialogue of group live performance is framed in Holdsworth’s meticulous, state-of-the-art production techniques. The Wardenclyffe Tower, Holdsworth’s seventh solo project, was dedicated to the technological visionary and great inventor, Nikola Tesla; its title is taken from one of Tesla’s greatest dreams.
